In addition to admiring the beautiful sidewalk chalk murals and listening to the live local music, community members love to patronize the Chalk It Up Marketplace to support our local business community!  We invite local artists, crafters, makers, and food vendors to apply for vendor space to be a part of the festival!



The application below includes space for you to include information about your business, including your website and your social media pages.  Not all vendor applications will be accepted as we need to have a mix of goods and foods/treats that are not duplicative or conflicting. Chalk It Up reserves the right to refuse applications without having to justify its decision. If not selected, you may request to be added to the waiting list.If payment is not received by the deadline given by our Vendor Coordinator, we will assume forfeiture of vending space and a vendor from the waitlist will be selected. More details about payment options will be made available in the acceptance notification.

  • Single Space - 10 x 10:  $350.00
  • Double Space - Two 10 x 10 spaces: $700.00
  • Triple Space - Three 10 x 10  spaces: $1,050.00


Food:

  • Stationary Food Vendors -10 x 10:  $600.00
  • Food Trucks: $1200.00

I understand and agree to the following Terms, Conditions, and Guidelines:

SIGN UP & CONFIRMATION
Vendor spaces are limited. Chalk It Up reserves the right to select the most appropriate vendors from the applicant pool to ensure a diverse mix of quality artisan items for the festival.

No commercial or franchised items, buy-sell, MLM, or import products unless fair trade or otherwise approved. Craft vendor items must show unique and creative design and capture the essence of the maker or artist.

Vendors notified of their selection status will receive an invoice with a deadline for submitting payment. If payment is not received by the deadline, we will assume forfeiture of vending space and select a vendor from the waitlist. The acceptance notification will provide more details about payment options.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR CANCELLATIONS. NO EXCEPTIONS.

PAPERWORK
All vendors must be able to provide a current Insurance Certification and Seller's Permit (craft) or Business Permit (food).

Chalk It Up must be named as additionally covered on your vendor insurance. (Many of our vendors get their vendor insurance through ACT insurance).

Food Vendors must also be permitted with the Sacramento County Environmental Health Department as Multi-Event Vendors (MEV) or Food Trucks (MFF).

ONSITE INFORMATION
All Stationary Vendors will have space for a 10x10 pop-up tent or canopy (unless additional space is worked out in advance).

There will be limited space between vendors.

Vendors must provide items for their booth, including a tent/canopy, tables, chairs, etc.

Gas generators are not allowed; however, battery-powered generators are acceptable. The City of Sacramento has power stations installed in the food vendor area; however, Chalk It Up cannot be held liable for any losses caused by power outages or lack of city maintenance.

The Chalk It Up Festival is held in a public park in a busy neighborhood in Midtown Sacramento. Chalk It Up does not provide vendor parking. Vehicles parked in spaces marked "No Parking—Special Event" will be towed at the owner's expense. Vendors may find street parking across the street from the park, in the surrounding neighborhood, or at the lot at 15th & R Streets, one block away from the park.

Vendor parking is not allowed within the park. However, vendors can drive into the park for load-in and load-out only.

SET UP & SECURITY
Vendor set-up is on Friday, 8/30/25, after 1:00 p.m. No vendors will be allowed to set up before 1:00 p.m.

Food trucks must arrive on Saturday between 7:00am and 8:00am to allow for positioning and be ready for 8am inspection by the Fire Marshall. No exceptions.
On Sunday and Monday, food trucks must arrive by 9am to be in position by 10am.

Chalk It Up has 24-hour security on site beginning Friday through Monday; however, Chalk It Up is not liable for vendor revenue, merchandise, and/or equipment.

Vendor tear-town is on Monday, 9/1/2025 at 6:00 pm.

FESTIVAL RULES
Chalk It Up is committed to being good global citizens and requires that no Styrofoam or other non-recyclable or non-compostable items be distributed. Please ask your supplier about “green” alternatives.

Chalk It Up asks that Food Vendors provide at least one menu item suitable for those who do not eat meat.

Chalk It Up supplies and maintains trash bins in the park for guests and dumpsters for vendors for garbage, recycling, and compost. Vendors must take all of their waste to one of Chalk It Up's approved dumpsters or take it with them at the end of each day. Do not fill the in-park trash bins.

Please have all of your necessary paperwork onsite.

FOOD VENDOR REGULATIONS
As stated in the FESTIVAL RULES, please use eco-friendly alternatives for serving. Look into having compostable spoons, forks, knives, cups, serving boats, and straws! We have specific waste dumpsters for compostable and recyclable items. Help us replace our landfill items with recyclable items!

Food vendors must dispose of their cooking waste off-site. Chalk It Up reserves the right to remove vendors who improperly dispose of waste-water or grease.

All Food Vendors must have a fire extinguisher. Vendors with Deep Fat Fryer must have a K type extinguisher. It is the responsibility of the vendor to make sure they have the required equipment.
