Volunteer for the Chalk It Up Stage!

Saturday, 8/30/25 through Monday, 9/1/25, 10 am - 6 pm

The Chalk It Up! Chalk Art & Music Festival celebrates our local arts community. Artists create Sidewalk Chalk Murals around the park's perimeter, and the Chalk It Up Stage features three days of live, local music. Each year, we seek to put together a diverse line-up of local musicians and performers to provide entertainment and set the festival's vibe.  

• We are looking for local bands and performers of all genres to play a set between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday of Labor Day Weekend. We provide a professional sound engineer, a stage manager, and a backline to keep load-ins as simple as possible.  
• Pop, Punk, Hip-Hop, Bluegrass, Americana, Indie/Alternative, Jazz, Rock and Roll, Latin, Reggae, Youth and Student groups, DJs - we love it all and hope to create a line-up of lots of different types of music.  It's all about showing off the fantastic talent of our region!
• Everyone who performs on the Chalk It Up Stage volunteers their time and talent.  No musicians or performers are paid.
• Musician load-in is on the P Street side of the park.  Because of the limited number of available parking spaces, we have volunteer parking attendants to ensure that each band receives one free parking pass and one dedicated parking space on the day of their performance. 
• A merch tent is set up near the stage for all performers to sell their merch, collect mailing list signups, and meet with the community.  Performers manage their merch sales themselves, and we ask that performers work together to share this space.
• This is a family-friendly public event.  All performers agree to keep their lyrics and performances rated PG.  

Since 1991, the Chalk It Up Festival has been free for the community due to the support of sponsors, donors, and volunteers, and we thank you so much for offering your time and talent to Chalk It Up to make the festival special for the artists and the community!
